I presented the talk The Expressive Use of Procedural Authorship at the Design Research Conference 2006/1. The event was part of the graduate design programme of the Anhembi Morumbi University (São Paulo, Brasil). Organized by Prof. Dr. Gilbertto Prado, the event was held in April 28th, 2016.

XIII Technology Conference conference

XIII Technology Conference (Fatec)

The XIII Technology Conference was held at the Faculty of Technology of São Paulo (Fatec – Faculdade de Tecnologia) in October 2011.

I participated in the round table discussion about Art and Technology, alongside Maurício Taveira, by invitation of Luis Bueno, professor at the faculty and mediator in the debate.

I was Assistant Professor in the discipline of Computer Graphics (CAP0288) in the Department of Fine Arts (or Plastic Arts) of ECA/USP for two semesters. In 2009 (paid internship) and 2010 (volunteer), both in the second semester (PAE program). The discipline, for undergraduate students, is taught by Prof. Monica Tavares.1

The System of Beowulf talk

I participated in the conference Storytelling in the Medieval World (University College London), presenting a talk titled “The story of Beowulf in schools: adaptations and explorations in different media”, along with Theo Bryer and Jane Coles (IOE UCL).

I talked about the use of procedural authorship and videogame creation in the context of Playing Beowulf, and showed some gameplay footage from one of the games developed in the project’s pilot workshop.

The talk was held April 11th 2015, at UCL’s beautiful Gustave Tuck Lecture Theatre.


Red INAV 2012 convention

Congresso Red INAV

The Red INAV 2012 (site|facebook) convention was about audiovisual narratives. It was held in May, in the cities of Mállaga (23th and 24th) and Sevilla (25th), in Spain.

I presented the article Procedural and Interactive Narratives: new creative strategies and the expressivity of digital media, which was also published in the Comunicación journal of the University of Sevilla (post).

I also participated in the debate about Transmedia Narratives, coordinated by Fernando Morales (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) and Francisco Javier Gómez Tarín (Universitat Jaume I de Castellón).

Hacker and Algorithmic Art round table

Hacker and Algorithmic Art (Itaú Cultural)

The round table discussion Hacker and Algorithmic Art was held July 2011, as part of the Rumos Arte Cibernética symposium, at the Itaú Cultural. I participated in the debate alongside Daniel Hora (UnB), mediated by Guilherme Kujawski.

I presented my research project about the Procedural Poetics, awarded with the Itaú Rumos prize for academic research in 2009 (post).

XVIII ANPAP Meeting conference


The XVIII ANPAP Meeting (ANPAP – National Association of Researchers in Plastic Arts) happened in September 2009 in Salvador, Bahia (Brasil).

I presented the paper The Creative Process in Digital Media: an analysis methodology (post).


Rumos Arte Cibernética Award award

Prêmio Rumos Arte Cibernética (2009)

In 2009 my masters research on the Procedural Poetics received the Rumos Arte Cibernética award for academic research, from the Instituto Itaú Cultural (São Paulo, Brasil).

There was also a symposium in which I participated in a debate and presented my research. I also published a paper about my project in the website of the event (post).
